A brief look at UCLA’s training camp practice at Spaulding Field

Josh Rosen led the offense to its first victory against the defense in a team competition this training camp Wednesday. That, it turned out, was just the beginning. The junior has had four straight days of impressive practices, including Saturday’s. He threw a 14-yard touchdown to Darren Andrews in the first team period, letting the pass go before his receiver had even turned around.

“It feels like he was more comfortable in the offense and in what he’s doing,” Coach Jim Mora said.

Play of the day

Defensive lineman Rick Wade had a 45-yard scoop-and-score after fellow defensive lineman Chigozie Nnoruka stripped the ball from quarterback Devon Modster during a red zone period.
