The USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group based at Naval Station North Island has a new commander as it prepares to deploy later this year.

In a ceremony aboard the Theodore Roosevelt on Thursday, Rear Adm. Steve T. Koehler took over command of Carrier Strike Group Nine from Rear Adm. James S. Bynum.
